Lovin’ my Iphone

I’m a Nokia mobile phone fan for many years and I never thought that I’d switch to another brand. When the iPhone craze started few years back, even if I wanted to join the iPhone bandwagon, still I could not afford to buy one.

Lots of iPhone 3gs phone users upgraded their phones when iPhone 4 and 4s were released. Few friends sold their units and that is the only time that I bought a pre-loved phone that I’m using now.

I have to say goodbye to my reliable Nokia for that has served me for years and used iPhone already. I even bought lots of iphone cases and accessories to make my phone more fun to use. Now, I’m loving my iPhone especially the apps that I have downloaded in it.

Opening Ceremonies London Olympics 2012

The opening ceremonies of London Olympics 2012 was held on July 27, 2012 and it was broadcast live in our country very early morning  (around past 12 am) of July 28, 2012. London already the Olympic Games in 1908, 1948 and  now 2012 and they are the only city that have hosted the Olympics 3x.

I woke up at around 6 am and when I turned the TV at TV5 on the Opening ceremony is already starting. I think it was the Japan delegates that are marching in the stadium. I hurriedly get up and watched it more because of course I don’t want to miss our country’s delegates.

Here is the Philippines’ delegate (only 11 athletes made it on the Olympics)

It’s really exciting to watch the ceremony and even if I’m not an athlete or I’m not physically there to witness it, I got teary eyed and I could feel the excitement there. I’m sure the feeling is much more different.

The Olympics flame

I’ll be following some of the games esp. the swimming, volleyball, archery and gymnastics events.

Thoughts on Gloomy Saturday

Last night before I went to sleep, rain started to fall making it more conducive to sleep. I went to bed unusually early at around 10 pm but watched TV first before hitting the dreamland. I was awakened by by loud sound of the rain and I believe that was 1 am already. Geez, the rain never stops.

Today, it’s still gloomy and I’m not sure of mr. sun will show up later in the day. I’ll be attending the combined baptismal and 7th birthday of my cousin's children before lunch time and I’m just praying that it’ll not rain just like last night.

I started the day watching the Opening Ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics and the show was awesome. I’m also working today because I need to finish some online works.  I’m so grateful for all the blessing that God has been showering to me ever since I started blogging in 2007.I also have to do a research about the equote term life insurance since my cousin keeps on telling me about it.

I’m also going to man our Internet cafĂ© later in the afternoon after the occasion that I’ll be attending. It’s been already a week that my SIL is the one managing it since I’m busy with my work. Today seems to be another busy day for me.

What to Do When you see a NO SIM sign/error on your iPhone

The other day I was in a hurry to text my SIL about an errand when I saw the NO SIM error on my iPhone. How could that happen? I’m in a hurry and yet I could not text or call perhaps. I tried turning my phone on and off several times but yet it’s still the same.

I also have tried putting my SIM on other phone just to check that my SIM still working. That method didn’t help as well when I tried to put it back on my iPhone.

Here’s what to do correct the NO SIM error on your iPhone.
~Turn the phone off.
~Remove the SIM card
~Get an eraser and carefully swipe it on the “gold” part of the SIM. It’s like you are erasing something.
~Put it back on your phone and turn it on.

Voila, after doing so. My phone is back to normal. It seems that the contacts are already dirty.

Hope this helps.

The Art of Beauty Enhancement

Sure, we all want to look good and fit that’s why most of us are doing anything just to be healthy, presentable and pleasing. Various fitness gyms, health clubs and restaurants offering healthy foods have emerged through the years because of the increase enthusiasm of people that wanted to get fit and healthy at the same time. Not to mention the various food supplements to aid the body in keeping healthy.

For others who are battling low self-esteem and probably depression because of their physical flaw see that cosmetic surgery could help them gain back their self-trust and respect. For me, there’s nothing wrong undergoing such procedure as long as you have self-limitation.

It’s been how many years that many have patronized this procedure not only ordinary people but obviously it include the rich and famous and almost all celebrities. Celebrities always wanted to look good not just for themselves but also for their fans that’s why it’s no wonder that they wanted this procedure. These days, there are heaps of cosmetic facilities that are offering various cosmetic procedures and one of them is the “The Victorian Cosmetic Institute”. With a team of certified and specialized cosmetic doctors, cosmetic and plastic surgeons, nurses and beauty therapists their aim at the institute is to be able provide quality cosmetic services to all their clients. Aside from their desire to fit every procedure to their patients, they also want those that experience their service feel beautiful in every aspect of their lives after the procedure.

While browsing their website, I learned about the various procedures that they are offering: from simple acne treatment, laser hair removal to surgical procedures such as breast augmentation, eyelid surgery and more. Videos demonstrating the use of dermal fillers in facial rejuvenation, laser removal, chemical peel and other procedures can also help patients on what to expect on the treatments that they want to undergo. Overall, the website is very informative as you can also find Q&A, patient forms, prices, feedbacks and more that any patient wants to read and peruse.

I suggest that before undergoing any cosmetic procedures, always research about it, know the reputation of the clinic and the doctors that will treat you. Of course, just like any other procedures there is always a risk so better understanding and careful research of the procedure is necessary. These days, not only women are undergoing various cosmetic treatments but also men. It only shows that all genders are in pursuit of being youthful and beautiful.

Dream and Reality

I have many dreams which I want to make come true in my life. But of course, this is not always easy for me. I have limited time, limited money, and limited physical capacities. For example, I admire birds as they can fly. They can see everything from a different perspective. They do not have to be afraid of crashing down and they do not depend on any means of transport. They can breathe the fresh air above our smog air. They can travel far away…

Blurred perceptions
Okay, enough of birds, let’s talk about something more palpable. Because it makes no sense talking about capacities which are not mean to be human. What is human, however, is a need for things. Everybody owns things. As a child, I had my favorite pet (I still have it, I have to admit and I love it), but as I grew up, I developed desires for other things too; fashion, of course, shiny things, colorful things, beautiful things. I have found it especially interesting to dress up with stylish Patek Philippe timepieces – now you might think this is posh, no it is not, because I do not actually dress up with these watches. It is just a dream. I do dream I buy them, and then enjoy them. Simply. I think the reason for me dreaming stuff like this up is that a good friend once made a good deal on expensive Omega watches and that she has been collecting them ever since. They do indeed look nice. And that’s reality. But before I will buy one of my favorite timepieces, I will get a sofa. That’s reality, too. Well, there are many projects on my to-do-list. And once my dreams have come true, I will create new ones and let you know.

On and Off Smart Bro Internet Connection

It’s been how many days now that our Internet connection was on and off and it’s making me annoyed already. I could not surf the net and do my online work. I’m also puzzled every time it rains, the net will be off in no time.

With all the hassles that I’ve been getting, I already called SMART BRO technical support at 672 – 7277 to air my problem. The call center agent was kind enough to accommodate my problem and in no time the net was back.

The next day same thing happened (no connection) so I called once again and it appears that my antenna can’t get signal anymore. Yay. Fortunately, they were able to send a technician the next day to come and see my connection and the antenna. Sad to say that the antenna has been blocked by a big tree that has grown in our neighbor’s backyard. They looked for another possible location but it can’t get any signal.

The only resort that I can do is ask my neighbor to trim the branches of the tree so I can get signal properly at the tower. Doing so will solve the problem. Yay!

A Well-Deserved Family Vacation

My sister who is working in the Middle East and the one residing in Sydney came all the way from their place to meet us in Singapore last week. My family also flew from Manila to also meet them. It became a mini- reunion because 2 of my brothers are not able to come.

We all had a grand time going to all the the tourists spots there. Eating Singapore foods is also different and touring the small and clean city. Of course our trip is not complete without shopping especially it's the Grand Singapore sale. There are lots of clothes, jewelries, makeup and more. It would be nice if we also find slane and slane jewelries that are on sale too for I know my sister J, will be thrilled to know because she loves jewelries.

I hope that we'll have another overseas trip next year with my family and Malaysia or Thailand are a good choice.

Phillipines' King of Comedy Dolphy Died

When I came home from work last night, my niece told me that Dolphy already died. I felt a bit sad because of his passing but I know he is already suffered enough and he really needs to rest now. The whole nation is closely monitoring his condition eversince he got sick and was bright to the hospital and the whole Philippines will mourn on his passing. He died July 10, 2012- 8:34 pm.

I've been watching his movies and some TV shows before and my all-time fave is the John and Marsha TV show in the 90's. Dolphy has made us all laugh and his legacy will remain in all Pinoy's heart.

Thank you Dolphy. Goodbye! Rest in Peace!!

In Need of a New Sofa

Last summer, I had a mini home project done. It was the repainting of all the walls in the house plus a major home cleaning. The painting took around 9 days while the cleaning took us forever.. lol The task was really so hard, just imagine almost all the stuff in the house were remove. I have to throw some few things to make way for the new stuff that I bought. The house is neater now but there are more items that I'm still holding on and still thinking if I have to let them go already. Talk about hoarding, I have that sometimes but if I really want to a clean house I should let go of them yikes.

Anyway, that project is done and now I have a new wish or project on my mind. I’ve been wanting to replace our sofa but with the lack of big budget, I’m not able to purchase oneI still need to save more and hoping that I can buy something like this before the year ends or probably at the first quarter of 2013. Wish me luck!

Dolphy Special Tributes

Ever since comedy king DOLPHY died, the special tributes to him was left and right on different TV stations. It is where we come to know the life story of this well-loved comedian. I personally like him having watched him on various shows but the John and Marsha series was one of my favorites way back in the 80’s.

Everyone tells that he is a good man, very generous and a good actor having been in the show business for 60 years. He has left a big mark in the industry and most of his co-artists are hats off to him. He passed away at 83 and left 18 children from I think 6 women.

Today, I'm here at my shop because the net at my house is just annoying (on and off).

Outside my window… I can see some few public vehicles passing bu
I am thinking… of finishing some works today so that my work load will be less this week.
I am thankful for…the times that I spent with my family during our Singapore trip last week,
From the kitchen… I cooked chicken caldereta, one of my fave dishes that I cool.
I am wearing… my tokong pants and shirt. I'm also loving my short hair now.
I am creating… blogs posts for my different blogs. It's going to be many but I have to do this.
I am going…to check out the custom golf balls that I saw online. I've been looking for a nice gift for my uncle and I think that is a good one.
I am reading… some blog posts of my friends and my sisters.
I am hoping… that our net connection at home will become stable already as it is pissing me off already.
I am hearing… the tribute for our Comedy King Dolphy on TV.
Around the house…My niece K is at the house because she has no class today.
One of my favorite things… is my point and shoot camera. I'm carrying it anywhere I go so I can snap a photo and preserve memories.
A few plans for the rest of the week: I’m looking forward to attend the baptismal of my friend's daughter come Saturday and probably go to Greenhills to buy some stuff.

Artist in the House

My brother is a visual artists who is painting for many years now. He did not enrolled in an arts school but he has an inborn talent because my dad and other relatives can also paint and design.

His forte is to draw using oil paint in canvass but from time to time he can also draw in different medium. He has joined local and national competitions and I’m proud that he has won several awards already.

Apart from painting in canvass, he is also into digital photography and also has won several awards in photography. He has a small gallery where he shows off his art and collection.

Bro's Collection

I guess you already know by now that my oldest brother is collecting old or vintage stuff for many years now. I think I have posted some pics of his collection or even his gallery here in my blog. He is into collecting old LP (long playing) albums, old or rare coins. He also collects old softdrink bottles, stamps, photos and whole lot more. His gallery is a huge space for anything old and that is his passion aside from oil painting. He is an artist and a collector as well.

Most of the times, he has clients coming over to see his collection or to buy some stuff from him. I learned that most of his customers sell things online such as on e-bay and they make a lot of profit out of it especially if they have the rare ones. I'm positive that my bro will continue to collect stuff for his personal collection and to sell them to his clients.
